Naxos

Tradition, flavor,
and authentic island life

Known as the largest island in the Cyclades, Naxos is a place where rich traditions, welcoming villages, and stunning landscapes come together. Often called the agricultural heart of the Cyclades, the island is known for its fertile valleys, local cheeses, potatoes, olive oil, and centuries-old villages where daily life still follows a slower pace. From mountain communities and ancient temples to beautiful beaches and lively tavernas, Naxos offers an authentic glimpse into Greek island life that goes far beyond the postcard views.

Amorgos

Wild, honest, and
quietly beautiful

Amorgos with its dramatic cliffs, bright blue waters, and peaceful pace of life, invites you to slow down and simply be. Far from the crowds, this remarkable island offers quiet walking paths, whitewashed villages, meaningful conversations, and moments of stillness that are often hard to find in everyday life. It's the perfect setting to pause, reflect, reconnect, and return home feeling renewed.

Before You Book

Because we begin making financial commitments to our accommodations and local partners well in advance, all payments are non-refundable.

For this reason, comprehensive travel insurance is highly recommended for all participants and should include:

  • Trip cancellation/interruption

  • Emergency medical coverage

  • Emergency evacuation

  • Lost or delayed baggage

We strongly encourage purchasing travel insurance shortly after booking to maximize available coverage.

For those who would like additional flexibility, we recommend considering a policy that offers Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage. This optional upgrade may provide broader cancellation benefits than a standard travel insurance policy but typically must be purchased soon after your initial trip payment.

Guests are responsible for selecting a policy that best meets their individual needs.

Please review our cancellation policy before booking. Because accommodations and experiences are reserved in advance, cancellations are subject to the terms outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

State Residency Restrictions: Please note that we are currently unable to accept trip registrations or payments from participants residing in California, Florida, Washington, or Hawaii due to local travel agency seller laws. Please reach out to Wendi or Jen for more information.

Frequently

Asked Questions

Travel & Logistics

Do I need a passport?

Yes. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. It is your responsibility to ensure you have all required travel documents.

Will I need a visa?

U.S. citizens do not currently need a visa for short tourist visits to Greece. However, the European Union is expected to implement the ETIAS travel authorization system before our trip. ETIAS is not a visa, but a simple online travel authorization. If it is required for your travel dates, we'll provide instructions well in advance.

How do I get to Naxos?

Most guests will fly into Athens before taking either a domestic flight or ferry to Naxos. We'll provide recommended travel routes, suggested arrival windows, and guidance to help you coordinate your travel.

Will someone help me plan my travel?

Absolutely. While you'll book your own flights, we'll provide recommendations, travel tips, and support throughout the planning process.

Can I arrive early or stay longer?

Yes, that's totally up to you. We'd love for you to spend even more time in Greece. If you'd like to extend your stay, Jen is happy to provide itinerary suggestions and recommendations. Any additional accommodations or transportation are your responsibility.

Accommodations

What are the accommodations like?

We've carefully chosen charming boutique 3–4 star family-run accommodations that reflect the authentic character of the Greek islands. While they aren't luxury resorts, they offer comfort, beautiful surroundings, and warm Greek hospitality.

Can I share a room?

A limited number of shared rooms are available for $3,970 per person. Guests traveling together are welcome to room together. Solo travelers requesting shared accommodations will be matched whenever possible, though roommate availability cannot be guaranteed.

The Experience

What makes A Sacred Pause different?

This isn't about checking destinations off a list. It's about slowing down, connecting with yourself and others, and experiencing Greece in a more intentional, meaningful way.

Can I come alone?

Yes, of course.  Many women join on their own and leave with wonderful new friendships. We'll also host virtual meetups before the trip so you'll have a chance to connect before arriving in Greece.

What is a typical day like?

Every day is thoughtfully balanced with time for exploration, meaningful experiences, shared meals, and space to simply enjoy Greece. While each day is unique, there will also be plenty of free time to relax, wander, journal, swim, or savor a leisurely coffee.

Do I have to participate in every activity?

No. This is your journey. You're always invited, never obligated.

Wellness

Do I need experience with meditation or spiritual practices?

Not at all. Everything is designed to be welcoming and accessible, regardless of your experience. Simply come with an open mind and heart.

Is the trip physically demanding?

Expect a moderate level of activity, including walking, stairs, hiking, and uneven terrain. Greece's beautiful landscapes often come with a few hills!

Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Please let us know your dietary needs during registration, and we'll do our best to accommodate them whenever possible.

Payments & Policies

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. Payment plans will be available through PayPal later and Klarna.

What happens if I need to cancel?

All payments are non-refundable. Because of this, comprehensive travel insurance is required and is designed to protect your investment should an unexpected covered event prevent you from traveling.

Travel insurance is required for all retreat participants.

We ask that each guest purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy to help protect against unexpected events before or during the trip, including trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and travel interruptions.

Proof of travel insurance must be submitted no later than 90 days prior to departure. However, we strongly encourage purchasing travel insurance shortly after booking to maximize available coverage.

What happens if the retreat is canceled by the hosts?

In the unlikely event that we must cancel the retreat, please review our terms and conditions. We are not responsible for independently booked travel arrangements such as airfare, which is why travel insurance is highly recommended.

Is This Trip Right for Me?

This experience is for women who are ready to slow down, embrace meaningful conversations, reconnect with themselves, and discover a side of Greece that's difficult to find on your own.

Whether you arrive knowing someone or not, you'll be welcomed into a supportive, intimate group where authenticity, curiosity, and connection are at the heart of the experience.
